How do SpectraBoost™ lenses work?Updated 6 hours ago

SpectraBoost™ is Revant Optics' color enhancing lens technology. Here's what that actually means:

How it works

Your eyes naturally struggle to separate similar colors that sit close together on the color spectrum like certain greens and yellows, blues and teals. When those overlapping wavelengths blur together, terrain loses definition and surfaces flatten out. SpectraBoost™ filters those overlapping wavelengths so the colors on either side appear more distinct. The result: sharper contrast, more surface definition, and natural vibrancy that comes forward without looking artificial.

What it actually changes

SpectraBoost™ doesn't add color, it clarifies what's already there. Think of it like sharpening the focus on a photograph. The same scene, with more detail visible.

In practice, this means:

  • Terrain features read with more definition — roots, rocks, surface changes on a trail or slope stand out more clearly.
  • Water has more depth and movement — easier to read current, spot depth changes, or track fish.
  • Road markings and surface texture are crisper — useful on long drives or in variable light.
  • Colors look vivid and natural, not oversaturated or filtered.

What it's built on

Every SpectraBoost™ lens is made on Revant's optically corrected polycarbonate with 100% UV protection. They're available as replacement lenses for hundreds of frame styles from brands like Oakley, Costa, Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, Smith, and more.

💡 Not sure which version is right for you? SpectraBoost™ comes in two versions: polarized (for driving, fishing, and high-glare environments) and non-polarized (for fast-reaction sports like skiing and mountain biking).
