What lenses are best for driving?Updated 2 months ago

Whether you're commuting, road tripping, or just running errands, the right lens takes the edge off glare and makes time behind the wheel more comfortable. Here's what to know.

The most important thing: go polarized

For driving, polarized is the right call. Glare off pavement, wet roads, windshields, and other vehicles is the primary visual challenge behind the wheel, and polarization cuts that reflected light before it reaches your eye. Non-polarized lenses reduce overall brightness but don't target reflected glare specifically, so they're a step behind for driving in most conditions.

Standard Polarized options

Reliable glare reduction without color enhancement. A solid choice for everyday commutes and casual driving.

Stealth Black | Standard Polarized | VLT: 12%

A neutral gray view-through that reduces brightness evenly without shifting color. Clean, accurate vision for bright driving conditions. Best for: daily commuting and road trips in direct sunlight.

Gray Green | Standard Polarized | VLT: 13%

A slightly warmer neutral that sharpens detail while preserving balanced color. A versatile everyday option that works well on the road and off it. Best for: commuting, travel, and extended time behind the wheel.

Rose Gold MirrorShield | Standard Polarized | VLT: 13%

A warm view-through with a rose gold mirror that adds a layer of glare reduction on top of the base tint. Best for: road trips and driving in bright, reflective conditions.

Want sharper road detail? Step up to SpectraBoost™ Polarized.

SpectraBoost™ Polarized combines color enhancing technology with polarized glare reduction. Road markings, surface changes, and pavement detail all read with more definition, while polarization handles reflected glare off wet roads and windshields. If you spend a lot of time driving or deal with intense road glare regularly, it's a meaningful upgrade.

Stealth Black | SpectraBoost™ Polarized | VLT: 15%

The same neutral gray view-through as the standard version, with color enhancing technology added. Sharpens road detail and surface definition without shifting color. Best for: daily driving, commuting, and outdoor events.

Gray Green | SpectraBoost™ Polarized | VLT: 13%

Sharpens detail while keeping color balanced and natural. One of the most versatile lenses in the lineup and a strong everyday driver. Best for: commuting, travel, and long hours on the road.

Black Chrome MirrorShield | SpectraBoost™ Polarized | VLT: 13%

A gray view-through with a silver mirror that significantly reduces reflected glare while adding elevated visual precision. A step up for drivers who deal with intense glare regularly. Best for: driving, road trips, overlanding, and long hauls.

How to choose

Go with a Standard Polarized lens if you want solid glare reduction for everyday driving without a lot of fuss. Stealth Black and Gray Green are the most versatile options and work well beyond the car too.

Step up to SpectraBoost™ Polarized if you drive frequently, deal with heavy road glare, or just want the sharpest possible view through the windshield. Black Chrome is the strongest glare fighter of the three, while Stealth Black and Gray Green offer a more neutral, natural view.
